Join us for a slow Sunday morning learning to weave tapestry with artist Susannah Bolton. Nestled in the beautiful garden studio of Manus Workshops, we will enjoy the absorbing and tactile action of tapestry weaving.
First, we will settle down with a warm drink, some samples and inspiration points, to see what you as an individual might like to create.
You will be taught the anatomy of the woven tapestry, after which you will select fibres to work with through the class. We will create a small woven piece working on handmade notched lap looms made by craftsperson Matthew Lynch. Susannah will provide a wide selection of yarns to work with, including rare or vintage wools and linens, all included in the booking price. Finishing will be taught at the end, with a small booklet provided for you to keep for reference.
No experience is required and you will leave equipped with the skills to continue making tapestry. There is the opportunity to purchase the loom you work on at the end of the class, should you wish to.
